ASIL-B Compliant Dual 70V, 1.75A Synchronous Step-Down LED Driver with SPI
DESCRIPTION
The EV1702B is designed specifically for automotive lighting systems requiring intrinsically safe certification. This device incorporates many safety and diagnostic features including output voltage limiting, LED open/short fault detection, thermal shutdown and fail-safe operation. The EV1702B contains dual monolithic synchronous fixed-frequency step-down DC/DC converters that provide well-regulated current control to two strings of LEDs. The switching frequency may be programmed from 200kHz to 2MHz through SPI communications. The internal oscillator offers spread spectrum frequency modulation for reduced EMI.
Light output in the LEDs is controllable with analog and PWM dimming by programming through SPI. 20:1 analog dimming is offered at a 10-bit resolution with ±2% accuracy at full current. 100:1 Internal PWM dimming can be designed with duty-cycles from 1% to 100% down to a frequency of 120Hz. External PWM pins are available for external dimming control.
The EV1702B is available in a thermally-enhanced 32-pin TSSOP package with a 4mm x 4.25mm top-exposed pad.
