DESCRIPTION

The EV3520Q is a dual-phase, peak current mode, boost controller with SPI communication interface. The output voltage is controlled using an external feedback resistor voltage divider and a SPI-programmable, 8-bit DAC allowing on-the-fly output voltage adjustment. 

An additional two phases (four total) are supported via CLKIN/OUT pins. The EV3520Q includes integrated phase-shifted clock signalling for improved output ripple and reduced system filtering capacitance and inductance requirements.

The EV3520Q’s integrated SPI also includes programmable diagnostics for improved visibility and protection. Internal protection features include cycle-by-cycle current limit, boost output overvoltage and undervoltage protection, and over temperature protection. In addition to the SPI fault monitoring, faults may be monitored with the open drain fault pin.

For improved reliability, the EV3520Q includes an LH pin to initiate limp home (LH) mode which utilizes a redundant set of SPI registers.
